Water treatment process

▪ Water treatment process

Water is taken from reservoirs or any other source to the water treatment plant

Filtration:

▪ Water containing solids is passed through filters of sand and gravel which removes insoluble particles. Larger insoluble particles are trapped on the filter. The smaller water molecules and other dissolved molecules pass through the filter.

Chlorination:

▪ Water chlorination is the process of adding chlorine  such as sodium hypochlorite to water. This method is used to kill bacteria, viruses and other microbes in water.[1] In particular, chlorination is used to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases such as choleradysentery

and typhoid[2.]

▪ The water may end to be slightly acidic ,small amounts of sodium hydroxide are added to treat this .fluoride might

be added to because it helps in preventing tooth decay

▪ Water is then stored in reservoirs and then delivered to homes
